Where the French Grand Master Juan Parisot De
La Vallette laid the foundation stone of Valletta
in the 16th Century. This Church is dedicated
to Our Lady of Victory.

For a splendid panoramic view
of the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities. Monument
in these fabulous gardens include amongst others:
Les Gavroches, by Antonio Sciortino, Lord Strickland,
Sir Winston Churchill and a memorial to Sir Thomas
Maitland. |
 
The Conventual church of the Order, is historically
and artistically one of the most important monuments
on the Islands. Designed by Gerolamo Cassar
was built between 1573 and 1577 in the crypt
lie 12 grand masters, including the La Vallette,
and Sir Oliver Starkey in only Englishman to
have fought in the Great Siege of 1565. 'The
Beheading of St. John' Caravaggio's masterpiece
hangs in the Oratory.

Is one of the oldest churches
in Valletta, built to commemorate St. Paul's Shipwreck
on the island, the church contains impressive
vault paintings by Attilio Palombi, which property
episodes in the life of St. Paul's. There is also
a magnificent wooden statue of the apostle carved
by the famous Maltese sculptor, Melchiorre Gafa
and two very important religious relics - a wrist
bone of St. Paul and a piece of the column on
which he was beheaded. The Church is rich in gold
and sliver sacred artefacts, including a silver
throne from the early 15th century.

Was founded in the year 1575, it is the seat of
Provincial Curia and of the Commissariat of the
holy Land since 1636. At Ta Giezu Church as it
is known with the Maltese people is located the
family tomb of the Venerable Nazju Falzon |


The Magisterial Palace, was built in 1571 and
today is the office of the President of Malta
and seats the Parliament House. The palace is
a treasure trove of art: in the Tapestry Chamber
hangs unique collection of Gobelin tapestries.
Frescoes depicting the Great Siege of 1565,
by Perez d'Aleccio adorn the Hall of St. Michael
and St. George.
