Outstanding amongst churches in Malta is the Basilica
of Ta' Pinu. This neo-Gothic shrine in open country
to the villages of Gharb and Ghammar.
A small village with an imposing
church, the dome of Xewkija ranks the third largest
in the world. The dome has an internal diameter
of 24 metres, a height of 75 metres and weights
4,500 tons.
The Cathedral, a metropolitan church of the diocese
of Gozo, was completed in 1711 and is dedicated
to the Virgin of the Assumption.
Victoria the capital city of Gozo, popularly known
as Rabat, is the island's capital. It-Tokk is
Victoria's main square and also the site of the
island principal flea market. Gozo 360 - a 30-minute
show over 1000 colour pictures to highlight the
beauty of this island.
This land-locked sandy and pebbly beach, tucked
away in the south under towering cliffs has a
character all of its own. Xlendi is also famous
for its hand-woven lace.
The inland sea is a secluded bathing pool with crystal
water and surrounded by sheer cliffs. The Azure
Window is an impressive natural arch standing immediately
outside the Inland Sea.
Overlooking the red sands of RAMAL BAY and situated
in the cliff face near Xaghra, the cave has legendary
connections with Calypso and affords dominating
views of both Gozo and Malta.
These are the oldest free standing structures
in the world. The complex comprises of two Neolithic
temples dating from the third millennium.
